Comments: Scouting mission on Swift Creek. Water turned out to be surprisingly high for late summer; major hydraulics, strainers, and strong current present. More river than creek. Swiftwater training absolutely required. Even crossing from one side of the creek to the other required care to avoid getting swept. We backed off above R2 as it did not look reversible. This is a much more technical aquatic canyon than many others in the area. There is at least one more 60ft pitch downstream and with possibly other water hazards to overcome.
