Comments: Moderate flow through the canyon, ~11cfs in tonto creek, and surprisingly good flow through the exit drainage all the way back to the car. Replaced webbing on all major rappels. Tonto creek had flashed one week prior to this descent, with ~500cfs measured in Tonto near that location. This affected our descent and added substantial time as the creek bottom was still very muddy. Visibility was 1" below water surface at maximum, and boulders in the riverbed were covered in thick mud. Even 11cfs was irritating to fight swimming/slipping upstream in Tonto, do not attempt this canyon if flow is much higher than 30cfs in Tonto. Hazardous and slippery, taking almost 2 hours to get through the 1.5 mile swim up Tonto. R3 was relocated to a large tree roughly 15' back from the edge, adding ~30' total to the final pull as the original anchor (small tree near edge of R3) had been damaged to the point of failure by recent floods.

Comment: First descent. A few swims, but wetsuit not required in hotter months.
