Comments: The mini slot section was fun, but short. A negative is the brushy walk between the mini slot and the headwall rappel, which is impressive, but the only rappelling challenge in this canyon. By itself, Salix has a poor pay to play, but combined with Liberty Cap and/or Lower Ute, this can make a really nice day traversing the Monument. We left black webbing at the juniper anchors to confirm the locations. This reduced R1 to 200' to the ledge, but explains the extra 40' used when the first team fiddled the tree. Total time: 4hrs 20min
