Comment: Descended Walker for the first time and it was a charmer. Several interesting features above and below the short technical section made it an enjoyable side quest on a longer day with other targets. Walker in winter has springs and seeps that create frozen pools above R1 and a frozen waterfall down the R1 chute. We opted to rappel from an alternate anchor to avoid slippery walls and not disturb the unique conditions. There was an icy pool at the base of the watercourse, but no other water in the canyon. Several drops had single bolts installed, including two downclimbs, reflecting possible guiding activity in the canyon.
