Comment: A top notch big rappel to start and incredible dissolution pockets/unique rock features make this route huge bang for the buck! Especially when combined with Wife 5! Total time is for Wives 3 & 5.

After we ran 5, we climbed up the fin directly DCL of 5. This is a perfect sneak route to easily get up to 3.

First rappel has no anchor present. There is a large pine that seems to be in a poor position for pull so we fiddled off a large natural arch in wall DCL. This rappel was every bit of my 225’ rope and mostly free hanging… GLORIOUS!

Rest of the canyon was quick but very beautiful, super fun! Back down in less than 2 hours. Highly recommend!

Comment: Lots of uphill for the approach.

Many segments of the rigging for the first rap were replaced. Anchor was through a couple of huge huecos in the rock above. A courtesy anchor rigging was set up so that everyone (but LAMAR) could have a easier soft start instead of not having anything until over the edge.

One person didn't feel comfortable with the initial soft start with courtesy rigging, but in hindsight, would've been fine WITH the courtesy rigging. She ended up bailing and just walking back down with another person, and the two remaining went through. (Two up top dropped the rope for us instead of creating more rope grooves).

Super big first rap. Some people said it was their favorite rap. I went slow and had a few spins down. In hindsight, the anchor was super good and I could've adjusted my friction settings to somewhere where I could go a bit faster. Took our time and explored a bit and I even downclimbed the last rappel with a bunch of stemming, which was my favorite part.
