Comments: We approached from Boy Scout TH, going up this side canyon (35.9798, -114.7540) and around the top of "Bolt Me Daddy." **Be aware that there is a cliff band to descend shortly after passing "Bolt Me Daddy that I do not recommend for anyone inexperienced (or possibly for those with experience). There is another sequence of multiple steep/semi difficult DCs descending to Wild Side.

The canyon itself has very little noteworthy. The scenery is unique, but not particularly beautiful. The pool at our R4 was pretty easy to avoid while on rappel. The "shower room" near the end was unique but not hot water (if you'd even want to risk it with the amoebas?) Can confirm 120' rap length WITH the webbing extended (about 20' total webbing) to near the edge.

The exit from Boy Scout has a bit of route finding and has some fairly legit scrambling. Definitely NOT a boyscout route...

Comment: I feel this full featured route is one of the best in the Lake Mead Area! Starting with a long and engaging 4th class approach with some incredible, sweeping panoramic views of the entire area. The route funnels down into a dramatic chasem with alot of downclimbs and multiple large, quality rappels. Lots of unique natural features make this a very memorable route!

We shuttled from BoyScout to Gold Strike. Driving to BoyScout TH is doable with Subaru Crosstrek or similar AWD as there are small obstacles that require some care to negotiate and a hill climb out.

Once leaving Gold Strike Trail, the approach definitely requires some route finding. We trusted our gut and the topo, working our way around multiple gullys and along ridges toward the coordinates; we didnt have any issue.

We replaced alot of webbing and rebuilt a few anchors to be closer to cliff edges with rock pinches. There is one chest deep pool that is gross and unavoidable. The hotspring area is large, snaking around corners with calcite formations everywhere. The natural hotshower alcove is a nice memorable feature! Unfortunately, no pools to soak in. We It took us alomst 6 hours to arrive at the beach where we aired up our rafts and paddled 1000ft down to BoyScout.

We spent some time at the BoyScout Hotsprings then tackled the 4th class scramble exit at night. Having done it before, I had route down and an idea of what to expect. There are a few sections on this exit that are low 5th class, namely a 20' chimney climb 3/4 of the way up that is the crux. There is a spot to top rope belay others up from a cammed position. I rather enjoy this engaging exit but I recommend being a confident climber/scrambler and if you havent done it before, route finding would be challenging at night.

Definitely a route to put on the top of your list if you are an experienced canyoneer visiting the area!
