Comments: Absolutely stunning scrambling. A solid 5 hours of scrambling in gorgeous surroundings.

Started at rattlesnake canyon and hiked up. You will want to bring gloves as the rock was very rough and you will be using your hands for a significant portion of this hike. Took 4+ hours to make it to Willow Hole, do not underestimate the time it will take to hike this section. We moved quickly and were not dithering and it still took 4 hours to complete this section.

Also I thought the return route was via the Boy Scout Trial. I was wrong. If you take the loop you will be on the Boy Scout Trail for a very short section then will turn off trail again. I underestimated the total time to complete this loop and ended up doing this section in the dark which made navigation harder.

The last section is down a canyon that I am sure is gorgeous in the day but was fairly sketchy at night after hiking for 7 hours already. This last downclimb took 1 hour to complete.

Overall this was an epic trip and some of the most amazing scrambling I have experienced, but start early and do it while it is cool. I cannot imagine doing this hike in the hotter months. We did it after a big rain and there was a creek running through most of the hike which was easily avoidable but absolutely beautiful.

Comment: Did this with Mardy and Jesse. We started at the Boy Scout TH, hiking down Rattlesnake. Whilst not strictly a canyon, after reaching the end of the main trail, there was lots of scrambling downclimbing and some talus caves to explore. We planned on descending the technical part of the canyon, but after I dropped the first pitch and confirmed we'd be getting wet, we elected to hike around. Jarrod picked up up from the other end.

Comment: Did the full loop from Indian Cove campground since we were camping there. We were a bit slower because we had a brand new person with us who had limited climbing experience (and wasn't wearing sticky shoes like our five-tens), but the route was still doable for her with a little occasional help. No water at Willow Hole, but the stream was flowing a small amount south of Willow Hole before and after the Oh Bay Yo Yo shelter (and was clean enough that we used a life straw in it for some extra hydration) and there were large pools of mostly stagnant water along Rattlesnake Canyon on the descent.

Comment: Did the route up from Indian Cove to Willow Hole as a backpack, returning via Boyscout Trail. GPS exceedingly useful for navigation. Expect up to class 4 climbing moves, and serious route-finding. Getting through the Wonderland took the better part of the day. Surprised to see the creek was lightly flowing all the way up to Willow Hole. Recommend wearing sturdy gloves -- you will take all the skin off your fingertips.

Comment: The extra long approach time included a LOOP ROUTE trip: instead of approaching from the Willow Hole trailhead, we parked at the exit (Indian Cove Picnic Area), hiked 2.2 mi across the Indian Cove campground to the Nature Trail, climbed up the canyon directly south, and connected to the Willow Hole trail, and then proceeded as per beta.
