Introduction[edit]

A very scenic hike, followed by an ascent along the eastern base of a huge rock fin. Then, up a class 4 crack and along Deadmans spine to the drop in.

Approach[edit]

Park at the Deadman's Pass Trailhead and start your approach from there. Take Deadman's trail in to where you can make your way up a hill and along the eastern base of the huge rock fin. Stay at the base and make your way over to where you can see the red rock and white rock meet up top. This is where you will top out up a class 4 sloping crack. PG rating for the crack and exposed ridgeline traverse that follows. Then head up to the top of the white rock ridge line and over to the drop-in point.

Descent[edit]

7 rappels up to 200ft.

R1: 60' off of tree.

R2: 12' shimmy down tree. hand-line, or rap.

R3: 80' off large tree branch.

R4: 180' bolts

  • Continue down, making your way RDC to last down-climbable ledge. Continue RDC to locate the next anchor on a shelf.

R5: 50’ off of tree

        • Make your way back left to the main drainage with a few sloping downclimbs.

R6:located on first ledge 150'

Exit[edit]

Avoid dropping into main drainage. Easy Exit: After the last rappel, traverse ledge on the left side along the base of the fin. Continue on ledge until it crosses a minor drainage. Cross drainage and connect back with Deadman's Trail. Follow Deadman's Trail back to parking lot.
