Introduction[edit]
"E Canyon", a short route with 3 rappels, the best of which is pictured here. A 150' partially free-hanging rappel into an interesting cliff-lined bowl. It's right off the road near Vogel Flats and is possibly one of the easiest approaches in the area. This could be combined with Vasquez, Suicide, Silver on the Side, Silver or West Vasquez by dropping into Big Tujunga via this route.
- As with all the Big T canyons your help is needed to keep access open. This entire area is still seeing a slow recovery from the old station fire which means lots of invasive plants and overgrowth in general can quickly close off access to these areas and/or make your time in them miserable. Consider adding a pair of hand shears and/or small bypass loppers to your gear list when descending these places.

Approach[edit]
If you park at 34.2847, -118.2188 you can see the rappel directly across the canyon. This is also a good place to take pictures if someone wants to wait at this viewpoint while others rappel. If you park here it's a very short walk to the drop-in around 34.2841, -118.2173 on the South side of the road.
Descent[edit]
There is a small drainage on the South side of the road, drop-in around 34.2841, -118.2173. You'll be at the first rappel shortly.
R1: 40' from a large burned manzanita tree RDC.
R2: 150' 2 Trees RDC. This is a fun rappel with about half of it free-hanging. Take time to check out the cliff lined bowl as you rappel. Also be very careful of rockfall!
R3: 10' Down-climb or Rappel if wet
R4: 30' Down-climb carefully or Rappel if wet from bush RDC.
Exit[edit]
The canyon intersects with the main trail. Take a right (West) and hike .2 miles back to you car. Or continue on the trail to access the other canyons in the area.
