Introduction[edit]

A very short fun, nontechnical canyon often run by guides. Easy to do in a few hours. A stunning section of dim limestone cave-like passage with cold swims!

  • Pools with jumping opportunities at the beginning
  • Approach[edit]

From the parking area walk down the road to the entrance gate. Go through the entrance gate and one minute down the path you'll reach the water. Suit up and jump in!

  • The entrance gate
  • Descent[edit]

Follow the canyon down. After the gorgeous pool with some optional jumps in the beginning, the canyon is annoyingly slippery boulder for about 30 minutes. There are a few long swims.

  • Jumping pool at the start
  • Unremarkable canyon in the first half
  • The canyon then suddenly slots up into what is almost a cave. There are several long swims here.

  • The start of the slot
  • In a swim
  • This dark passage is the best part of the canyon. Springs drip out from moss-covered walls. Some formations are present. Enjoy it.

  • A dim section
  • The slot soon ends. Keep going downcanyon until reaching the dam.

    Exit[edit]

From the dam, you can exit the exposed ladder on canyon right and hop the fence to the road and walk back to your car, or continue down past the dam and exit near the bridge over the canyon.

  • Exit from the dam on canyon right
  • Red tape[edit]

The local government put a gate and a sign up recently with rules. No permits or fees or guides are currently required.

  • Rules at the entrance gate
