Introduction

Due to a massive rock fall in 2019 that has closed the lower portion of the West Rim Trail and also part of the Hidden Canyon trail, the park is not currently issuing permits for this canyon--nor is it accessible via the Hidden Canyon hiking trail.

 - The Zion Park trail was relocated circa 2010, making the approach beta in the book wrong. Several parties entered Grotto Canyon by mistake, and required rescue to get out.
