Introduction[edit]
A rugged seldom traveled backcountry canyon adventure starting with an engaging ascent of Lady Mountain. Featuring a long narrow crack section and a couple large rappels. Finishing at Court of the Patriarchs.
Approach[edit]
Climb Lady Mountain. This route is very steep with lots of 4th class and multiple low 5th class climbs. Incredible panorama views at summit!
After visiting the summit, go back down the trail a ways and hike out on to a flat overland mesa. Downclimb off the Mesa on steep loose terrain, crossing the saddle below up the other side and down into the canyon on your left.
Descent[edit]
Upper crack section is narrow providing lots of stemming options and many of the rappels are off-widths that can be downclimbed.
Eventually opens up. An impressive 150’ drop is encountered after which is alot of hiking.
There is a pool that you can climb around with some effort.
Eventually final sequence is encountered starting with a 240’ drop.
