Introduction[edit]
"Little Hawaii is the best-kept “secret” on the internet. A quick online search yields pages of results, with stories and links across numerous platforms dating back to 2013." from the Telluride News link in the Beta Sites section
The narcity article was first, then it popped up on All Trails and the secret is apparently out across social media.
Approach[edit]
Unless Telluride Open Space signs the access otherwise, this is a great little grotto and worth the side trip hiking to or from Bear Creek Falls in Telluride or as an out and back from Town Park on the east edge of town where street parking may be easier to come by.
A GPS is most helpful to navigate the social trails to the grotto itself. Cross Bear Creek on a log bridge. Traverse north on trails east of Bear Creek about a hundred yards, then access the creek and grotto below on a social trail.
Descent[edit]
Exit[edit]
Return on the Bear Creek Trail or on a social trail east of Bear Creek back to Town Park
