Introduction[edit]

Can be done either as two day or in a day. Most people take 12 hours according to the park rangers. The canyon water progressively gets deeper as you advance through the canyon. At 50 cps (a little less than medium) the deepest the water was to upper hip on a six foot tall person.

It is worth doing from top down so you can have the experience of all day exploring a canyon to yourself. The Narrows Proper last 1/3 is full of tourists and therefore has a different feel, although it is the longest section of closer in canyon. The canyon is wide, typically 30-40 ft and never gets less than 20 ft so the name narrows is sort of misleading.

Canyon is non-technical but requires a wet suit. Also requires a shuttle and there are many available options for this.
