Comments: Quick trip through a steep side drainage of Fall Canyon. All anchors were left in good condition. R1 had a courtesy option which could be nice for groups but we chose not to utilize it. We replaced the knock chocks found at R3 which were pretty bomber. The horn anchor close to the pour over at the last rappel is spooky, at least for me... but seems solid enough.

Comment: This is a great short canyon! We replaced all the webbing, and rebuilt/repaired all the anchors. For the last rap we anchored off of rock horn near the edge making the last drop just under 200 feet.

Comment: Awesome canyon. We rebuilt the cairn anchor on the first rap, and extended the webbing a bit, to avoid rope pull issues. We backed up the anchor on the last rap with the rock chock a little higher up. Everything went smooth.

Comment: Nice cool day for the hike up. Canyon has impressive drops one right after another. Some water present in the potholes; totally avoidable though. All anchors are good; we rebuilt some of them with new webbing.

Comment: Great canyon for Death Valley standards and highly recommend as a half day canyon. We brought a 330ft rope so we could rap to the bottom and have additional pull cord with another 80ft rope. short but rapid fire raps. The second to the last rap needs to be replaced and extended around the boulder chock for a better pull.

Comment: We took the sneak or short cut route out of Fall canyon wash to get up to the ridge where we could drop down into the wash that leads to hobbit. From Hobbit wash we hiked over the two ridges and into the Black Void Wash. All anchors were in good shape including the tan colored knot choke anchor which might be the original. Two of the anchors are pinch points. The canyon is in the shade all the way (at least in February) lending to the darker look of this canyon. The last rappel is mostly free hang and drops right into the wash where Fall canyon hikers can watch and record your agile moves. It is a very fun 1/2 day canyon.

Comment: A very easy and special canyon. Short approach by DV standards, we dropped into the wash for Hobbit and then headed out over the first little drainage on the right to get into the next big obvious drainage of Black Void. It's a REAL canyon, deepening as you go, the walls getting narrow and offering a beautiful 150 flute which from the top is reminiscent of something you'd see in Zion, like a small version of the first drop in Englestead. At the very bottom is a deep pothole, which with sand removed by storms would be a keeper. It ends in a great drop of about 200 feet vertical, a little free hanging sections, and one ledge towards the bottom (where a cairn anchor could be added if your rope was too short.) The beta said 250', but it can be done with a little over 200 feet of rope (I extended the webbing). It is a very very worthy canyon. We took our time, and took 6 hours, but it could be done easily in 4 .5.
