Comments: We used a couple of inflatable Sups to cross the river. The landing for TH wqs not very obvious, so make sure to look up the location on a real map. Water level was ok. It was running but deepest pool was less than waist deep. No jumps, no slides. Bolts were all good condition, so were the webbing. The webbing on the first rappel may need to be changed after the winter. We were able to combine a couple of rappels with just one 60m rope. No hazards other than mosquitos. They were horrible on the river and half of the hike. Overall it was a really fun canyon. Definitely worth the trip.

Comment: Amazing canyon !
Few anchors needs to be replaced, we avoid to use some of them by using natural anchors. But most of the equipment is in perfect condition. Water was colder than Monmouth. A must do !

Comment: Time is car to car for Monmouth (upper section from the slide to the Keyhole) and Box. Time includes the canoe / packraft trip.
Rented a canoe from Squamish Watersports and so had 1 canoe, 2 explorer 200s and a SUP. Water still Mod-Low similar to a few days before despite recent rains.

Comment: Time is from the drop in to the beach as we did Monmouth to The Keyhole then cut over.
We placed a few more single bolt stations mostly to simplify multi-stages though one was to change a stance after the traverse (placed above the galvanized anchors which we did not remove). The water in Box is significantly colder than Monmouth. A few party members were chilly while waiting for bolt installations. Overall a great canyon that could still use some anchor work and maintenance.

Comment: Beautiful day. Loved “el tubo” rappel. Hoping to return in 20 years when it becomes a slide again hopefully? Bottom of the rap now filled with silt. Anchors appear safe, some nuts have become tapered from debri trauma. We ascended via Monmouth approach in order to avoid wasps on the Box approach.

Comment: Fantastic day in Box - was wet and rainy but still fun. We took our time, wasn't in any rush. The river crossing was easy. One person got stung twice on the hike up, but no issues after that. Would have loved a little more water, but still a great day!

Comment: It is an absolutely fantastic canyon, with lovely sculpted granite and deep walls. If there were more jumps, slides, and swims I’m sure this would be among the best in the area. Flow was low but enjoyable. All anchors are in good shape, we dis not need to repair any areas. One member of the group was stung by hornets about 5 minutes from exciting the creek on the ascent. We used Squamish Watersports for our kayak rentals, who allowed us to keep them overnight to run back to back days of canyons.

Comment: An amazing canyon! Ran leisurely car to car in 8 hours including crossing the Squamish river each way in an inflatable canoe rented from Squamish Canoe Rental - highly recommend! It was raining but the flow was still relatively low. Very good effort to reward ratio nonetheless. All anchors bolted. One or two starting to wear but nothing in need of replacement. Multi-tiered raps provided the only minor challenges but an experienced group should be able to handle without issue.

Finally got around to running Box this weekend. Anchors are in good shape, low flow & very manageable for our groups experience level. What fun! James's caving suit has never looked so clean. We used a 35m rope which was adequate on its own for most of the rappels, and tagged the longer ones with a equal length of tagline. Would have spent a lot more time on rope management if we had brought one longer rope.

Comment: Path to the canyon is tricky as a big cedar has fallen across the track. Scramble into the canyon is over lots of debris. First rappel anchors are no longer reachable (as the floor has got lower) and a temporary anchor was set up (bolts will need to be replaced). Second last rappel has a new false floor and a single bolt was added to make it safer to get to the anchor station. Lots of new debris (18 inch diameter cedar bits). Very unstable dams.

Comment: Great day! We had received an inch of rain in the preceding 24 hours (so it had only had like 3 or 4 hours to drain post-rain) and the flow was GREAT. Super fun, very friendly. Some of us were in dry suits and had no regrets about that!

Comment: There has been an event in the canyon as reported on Sept. 1, 2018. Hundreds of cubic yards of black gravel is moving through the canyon, and the water is the color of milk. Our group was pelted with rocks during the descent, though none of us were injured. We were careful to stay out of the water. The jumps are long gone, as is the hanging log at rap 1. The sieve at the 2 stage is also not an issue at present.

Comment: The first rappel is a bit harder to get to - we setup a retrievable handline/rappel to get to the anchors on the wall. R3 has a siphon/sieve at the bottom and our rope ended up getting caught in it. It came out with some yanking. Beautiful canyon.
