Comments: The new anchors on P6a and P8 are positioned out of reach for canyoners of average or below-average height. Previous anchors (tree and RL chockstone) were more accessible. With the tree anchor now removed, groups we passed were using the tree directly, increasing wear on what has been described as a dying tree.

Comment: New anchor on first abseil in Rocky Piont creek, P6a as described here, even with tape extension the anchor is difficult to reach (I’m 183cm). Take care.
New P8 anchor makes the abseil much easier but again they are high. I didn’t find the bolts difficult to reach but if you are much under 175cm they will be out of reach. Older anchor still viable last person down just needs to take care with rope placement so as not to wedge in crack.

Comment: Lovely canyon. Anchors and slings in good condition. Pools were deep, water flow was low. Approach to falls are particularly slippery and recent heavy rains might have made some of the walk-arounds a bit more precarious. Doable but suggest moving with extra caution as we had a party member slip. Walk in/walk out trails currently well defined. Walk out is steep 450m accent done in short distance. Climb not to be underestimated. Party was mostly experienced climbers and concesus was closer to grade 10-11, exposed though well protected. Trickier in 'regular' shoes. Exit has some of the best uninterrupted views of the Grose valley.
