Comments: What a beautiful canyon! We all felt this canyon exceeded our expectations. The drive there through the mountains was stunning alone. The canyon starts with a somewhat unpleasant creek walk. A single rappel that is fun but can be bypassed by downclimbing around. After a while, the canyon slots up, and it just gets more beautiful around every corner! Beautiful cave-like features and hanging gardens. The canyon also has some excellent jumps and fun rappels as it nears the end. Well worth the trip, and a treat that the canyon gets progressively better as it continues, with almost no exit back to your car (assuming you shuttle). White morphos everywhere rounded out a great day!

    Comment: Started at Jalpa bridge.

Water was a bit disgusting/contaminated. It gets better later in the canyon but the water is still contaminated. Did it with no shuttle, got a ride to Jalpa. Canyon is beautiful from the cave on with several nice jumps. Last waterfall is the only one that is really worth rappeling though you can easily get around walking.

Comment: Wow this is a super fun and beautiful canyon. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is barely technical, though there are some moderately tricky downclimbs if you don't rap. I think if we did it again I wouldn't bring technical gear unless the water was much higher. Or stash the gear at the top of the upper cascade (which you can walk to the top of and plenty of people do). The cave section is ridiculously gorgeous. The last two raps are not mandatory but super fun. A 3mm with jacket was adequate but more would have been better. The water is pretty cold. The big piles of trash at the bottom made us sad.
