Comments: Couldn’t find a flagged trail at all. The landscape forced us down into the creek at the bottom of the big drop. Bit of a bummer because it was RIPPING! R6 was a blast. At this flow definitely stay on rappel between R7 and R8. Definitely need to return with someone who knows the approach trail as the lines on CalTopo weren’t helpful after leaving the Mt Washington climbers trail.

Comment: Practice rigging day for a very inexperienced group trying to shake off some rust after an off-season.
All anchors in great shape except: R1 webbing in good shape, quicklink may need replacement soon (surface rust with some small pit Several bolted anchors could use a little TLC with hammer/wrenching (a handfull of spinners on a single bolt of a pair. no obvious rust or concerns.)

Comment: Fun day with descent flow in nice weather. First time in this canyon, anchors in good shape but seems some are missing, maybe a local can update beta. Quite slippery but sounds like that's normal for this canyon. We used this as a training op for newer folks. R1: did not see boulder webbing, used the traverse line bolts and the deviation. R3: did not see Option 2 webbing, rigged a dry line off a tree DCL for one person but removed it after. R5: both anchors in good shape, pushed a log off that was in the rap line for the first 15 ft. R6: has really sharp rock on both anchors. If using DCR anchor recommend going off the rock ledge further DCR. Might be nice to find a better anchor location.

Comment: Flow was fun, things were slightly less slippery than usual. Anchors were in good/useable condition although the webbing for R1 should be replaced soon.

Comment: Nice place on a hot day. All anchors seemed to be in good condition. Flow was low but still fun. Attempted to tighten the spinner on the last rappel to no avail.

Comment: More water than we thought there would be. Had to bypass one rappel that woulda been dangerous due to flow levels. Great conditions to play in the water.

Comment: Rap 1 rappeller’s left bolt spins a little. Placed webbing DCR prior to rap 3 bolts, otherwise all anchors in good shape.

Comment: Fun day in low flow conditions introducing some new people to the sport! As other reports mention, there are a lot of downed trees on both the hike in and the creek walk out.

Comment: Figured I’d check out flow on a rainy day. Was still low, but not very low as it would’ve been otherwise. Probably not worth doing aside from beginner trips until it rains more. Quick afternoon trip, all anchors in good condition. Very slippery

Comment: Water levels were on the low side, but we had a great time taking someone very new to canyoning through the creek. Anchors were in great condition (thanks, Becca). Compared to last year, there's been some upheaval with tree and rock falls in the lower part of the canyon. The approach is also a bit more of a slog than it was in the past, thanks to giant fallen trees. We were grateful for the flagging a couple of times where the trail was hard to spot. At R8 the bolt station is very exposed. We opted to rig a traverse line from a log instead of multi-staging from the R7 anchors.

Comment: Fun flow right now! There were huge floods in Change Creek this winter/spring and a lot of new logs and debris in the canyon. We spent time cleaning up and sawing away the most annoying stuff. R1 anchor was buried under 4” of gravel. R3 flow has been completely diverted to DCL with no flow at the rootball anchor, due to new tree fall that caused gravel to build up DCR. R7 bolts were buried by a landslide and fallen trees. We excavated them but we do NOT recommend using them as after we moved on we saw rockfall coming down right where the bolts were — use the DCR tree instead and link R7 and R8. We cleared the approach trail of overgrowth, checked and fixed up all of the anchors, and the canyon’s good to go.
