Comments: Great canyon. Replaced many of the anchors. The approach hike is enjoyable and has a few 3rd class moves (some optional). The canyon has fun movement throughout. One of my favorites in the area.

Comment: One of the more slotty Death Valley canyons. We also stuck our rope on the false floor rappel for a time, recommend double stranding. The approach is a workout but mostly chill in terms of exposure and more quality rock than I'm used to in Death Valley.

Comment: Stuck 3 ropes! On R7 (with the false floor), the biner got wedged in a pinch RDC, we ascended and went double, watching rope placement. Later, the rope got twisted up with the biner. Finally, there is a rap with a crack down the center, in which the ropes got stuck. We fixed all my ascending and changing the config. Was a cursed day! Anchors were all in good condition. Not really sure why this canyon has a "4" rating. Perhaps because of the cairn anchors?

Comment: The approach climb took a bit over 3 hours. The canyon is amazingly deep and sculptured with interesting down-climbs. The anchors were all straightforward, although quite a bit of webbing we replaced. Overall a sweet run although it was 9:50 car to car.

Comment: Fantastic day in the canyon. Overall, anchors and webbing are looking good. Some of the webbing is starting to look a bit old, so be sure to inspect. An additonal anchor was added an R8 to give the option of staying in the watercourse (the pre existing anchor which is a large rock upper canyon left was not disturbed).

Comment: Dangel: I just loved this canyon. The downclimbs were fun. The colors lovely. We saw some sheep bones and a tarantula. The approach from bottom up seemed a little bigger than some of the other Black Mountains like Demios. I liked that there wasn't a mile long alluvium walk at the end (just a 1/3 mile). We started at first light and did the last rappel in the dark without feeling like were were rushing.

We replaced many but not all of the anchors.

One member of our team said that one of the thicker rope anchors was a remnant of the first decent. It's a very faded blue/teal at this point, it's definitely worth swapping out due to age if you're headed through.
