Comments: The creek is still covered in snow up until 2100'. We were able to find a way into the creek without rappelling in which put us on the top of R6. Expect to negotiate avalanche debris for at least 5-10 minutes before reaching the creek. The area received at least 0.3 inches of rain the day prior and around 0.2 inches of rain during the day. The flow increased during the day as the rain continued. Conditions started off as moderate and increased moderate high throughout the day (the pummeler-R10 was in full force however since it is constricted). A surprisingly fun canyon! Our group installed two new stations

Comment: Despite caltopo showing snowpack that matches June in many other years, there remained a significant tongue of snow all the way to the top of R6. We hiked to the R1 drop-in, then hiked down to the top of R6 which was a terrible bushwhack through layers of downfall. After careful and annoying travel through seemingly endless downfall, it’s an easy 20’ downclimb to the creek bed at R6. Flow was mod-low. Anchors all show corrosion and new anchors are needed. On a Wednesday scout, there was no visible water in the creek bed by the culvert, and a hike up to the last rappel revealed low flow. The following day when we ran it, there was a slight big of water to the culvert and the flow was mod-low. Asbestos next door was snow-free 2 days later, so based on this one-year datapoint, asbestos opens up earlier than jumbo frog.

Comment: Nice canyon. We chose to do the sneak entry to the top of R6. The traverse from the normal path to the creek is seriously bushwhacky with a lot of downed trees and debris. Water levels were very low, we knew that going in. Carried a wetsuit but didn't need it. Replaced webbing at one of the anchors. Fun day, would be more fun earlier in the season with more water.

Comment: A great day in a beautiful canyon! A week ago, reports were that the creekbed above the culvert was bone dry. The drainage received about 1" on Thursday, and 1.2" on Saturday night, and when we arrived Sunday morning, the creekbed was clearly flowing. At the drop-in, it began sleeting, but the rest of the day it ebbed and flowed from foggy to steady rain, to brief moments of blue sky. We wore as many layers as could fit under our drysuits and were generally plenty warm. Flow was moderate + (not quite mod-high), and super fun. The "pummeller" (R11) was sporty but manageable - it would probably be challenging at higher flows. Overall, the flow was great, the canyon is quite beautiful, and the fall colors really enhanced the whole experience.
