Comment: Nice short canyon. Wanted to practice some throws with the pot shots as well as using some sand traps, but didn't go as planned.

There was enough water where there was only mud and not enough sand to use the sand trap. So we opted to meat anchor I believe for the first rap? from a higher point LDC. When we pulled the rope, it got caught likely on a mini flake that we didn't see. We ended up doing a 2-1 pully to get the rope down after climbing up half way and deeming it not safe.

Water was about crotch deep at some points, but weather overall was warm enough.

Comment: **Warning** All three bolted stations have been removed. These bolts were illegal because no new bolts have been allowed in the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area since the WSA designation in the 1970's. These bolts were removed by the party that originally installed them back in 2014. Please do not attempt to reinstall any bolts. A sandtrap was used to descend the first rappel. Please avoid using the scrappy cliffrose. Severe down climbing is required to get down rappels two and three. The canyon is now significantly harder and should be considered a very serious undertaking. Also, when we installed the bolts, we named the route Sourdough Canyon. I am curious where the current name came from?

Comment: Ran twice after 3 inches of snowfall. Once you reach a wide open slickrock finger, there is another rappel anchor LDC, around and towards the larger canyon on your left. This rappel is likely 150-160' and was not attempted due to lack of rope. Bolted anchor stations and pitons on the way down the finger, space is a consideration if in a large group. Snow may have covered other anchors, however this finger gets afternoon sun. If this slickrock section is icy, traction devices are highly recommended and may be life saving.
