Comments: All anchors looked good on the lower section. The approach trail is more burned in which was nice. A really good approach and the big rappel was the highlight.

Comment: We did the full route and tagged the summit of deadmans dome before dropping in. Webbing looked good, except on r2 (the tree shimmy), the rust colored webbing is starting to fade and shoild be replaced if used to rappel. All other anchors looked good. R3 is either a good downclimb or a mehhh rappel.

Comment: Ice on the approach made for extra challenges. All anchors looked good. We were able to stay dry, although there was a small stream of flow throughout the route. no micro spikes needed. Rain jackets kept us warm.

Comment: The downclimb after R4 was a bit spicy but plenty of options to navigate to the ledge. That last rap is money.

Comment: Fun cliffneering route! Skipped the first two rappels and went straight to C3. The use trail up was easy to follow to the slick rock. I found the scramble on the up hike to be very doable but some members of the group were more comfortable with a handline. Some folks found the downclimbing between rappels tricky, but the sandstone is plenty grippy and nothing is too exposed. We rigged two ropes on the last rappel using the normal anchor + an anchor that we found rigged LDC of the other anchor and higher on the ledge in order to accommodate our large group. We used the route to help train some of the beginners in the group on how to do anchoring/rope pulls, and we weren't in any sort of hurry throughout the day. Make sure to check out the ruins that are a very short hike DCR of the second to last rap!

Comment: Good run. 2 people moving efficiently 4 hours car to car. Anchors looked OK except the last anchor was missing so we Fiddle sticked it

Comment: A fun approach, exquisite views throughout, and a few very nice rappels!
We approached via the 4th class crack. Someone left a 20' piece of blue webbing as a hand line which we removed. Please don't do this. If you do not feel comfortable with this climb, there is an easier option around the other side... The views up on the ridge above are fantastic! We dropped in at R3, following the King's Cave approach, as I heard the other 2 raps are not very exciting. Replaced crispy webbing at the 180' rap. This rappel was very nice and had a great view! There is webbing at a small tree between R5 & R6 where one could downclimb DCR. We rigged this without realizing and ended up bypassing R6's official anchor using all of my 230' of rope. We exited staying DCL on the slick rock bench as long as we could before dropping into the drainage. This seemed to avoid alot of bushwacking. Very enjoyable route!

Comment: We risked it and went a bit later in the year than usual, temp was 97 degrees, so hot on the approach - the approach, if following kml closely, can be tricky - The canyon is beautiful, and the last three rappels are high and exposed.

Comment: Lower Deadman’s starting at R3. Excellent approach up onto the ridge. Webbing is good condition. Removed some junk material from a few anchors. Current R4 placement is contrived - bolt(s) or other anchor in the watercourse would improve the route. Not too much effort for great views and a few fun raps. Stayed somewhat high LDC for the exit (outside of and above the drainage) but encountered some thick brush as we neared Deadman’s Pass hiking trail.

Comment: kml track will take you by the 4th class chimney so keep an eye out for it. This is one of the early highlights of the route, and if you miss it there is a less adventurous scramble that follows the kml.
The spring up top kept this thing flowing 2 days after the heavy monsoon. Deadmans with flow is always a treat. anchors look good. a fun half day adventure!

Comment: All anchors in good shape. Downclimbed r6 rdc. r7 from ledge red and black webbing. r4 has new bolted anchor ldc making this drop less than 200'. 220' reccomended in icy or wet conditions. exit high ldc after last rappel and merge with social trail to deadmans trail. An overcast day made this the perfect outing . The tree shimmy, downclimbs, and scenic rappels that make you want to explore each shelf between rapps are what make this a must try classic!

Comment: Fun canyon with great views the whole way up and down. A bit windy at R4 per the usual, and awkwardly long webbing extension has been replaced with two bolts. Downclimbed R2&R6. Great day overall.
