Comments: All anchors are bolted and have good quick links. There was some standing water in a couple of rappels, but we managed to stay dry. We found this to be a spectacular canyon that was action-packed in a short amount of time. We hit the trail around 8 am to avoid commercial groups, but we only encountered one other group the whole day, and they went faster than us. Highly recommend this one!

Comment: This was a quick side trip on the way from Las Vegas to Escalante. There are bolts and chain anchors for all rappels. Many can be easily downclimbed. We chose to rappel each one just for fun. Did not even have to bag the rope in a few instances since the raps are close together. Two spots had just a little bit of standing water, maybe 2-3 inches deep. Easily avoided. Great weather. Slightly windy with sand blowing with the wind.
At the end, instead of walking down 100 yards or so to climb up to the ridge to get back, we just climbed up the steep sand slope on the left, immediately after the exit. Climbing up that sand slope was a bit of of a workout than at any point in this canyon. Could have been done in 2 hours but we were just in no hurry. | |||||||

Comment: Good day out in the Throne. The first two rappels are dry?! The watercourse of the "big" rappel will get you wet still, however with some rimannering you should stay dry.

Comment: This one deserves more love! A fun, easy canyon with some beautiful narrow slot sections. Easy approach and exit & bolts in the technical section are all in good shape. The sandstone formations are unbelievably beautiful. A couple of pools to stem around, water was all avoidable, but not that cold if you can't manage to avoid.
Fun to pair this with a quick run through The Hunted.

Comment: Neat little quickie route with some really pretty sculpted rock! We ran the canyon backwards and climbed up or around all the rappels. Definitely worth a peek if in the area. Took us 1.5hrs.

Comment: We were trying to catch a flight so time for the approach for Diana's + Diana's + travel to the approach for Hunted was about 35 minutes.
A few small pools lower down canyon but all are somewhat avoidable. Groups not avoiding will find pools up to 6 inches deep.

Comment: Cool little canyon with some neat natural features. Good canyon to introduce beginners to or for some guiding. Anchors were all solid. We encountered a couple stagnant pools, which were easily avoided and likely dry most of the time.

Comment: Beautiful canyon just after a rain, the bottom of every rap and down climb had water, some avoidable some not, easy approach, easy exit
This canyon has EVERYTHING, buddy assists, slidesdown climb, short raps, medium raps This canyon proves it doesn't have to be long to be great

Comment: Completed this canyon twice in a row to practice some rope work + lowering. Even doing all 8 raps we were out of the canyon in less than 2 hours.
One puddle which was avoidable with some work but one of us just got one foot wet instead.

Comment: Several shallow pools which were all avoidable. Used a retrievable at the longest rappel…there are some gnarly rope grooves present here, particularly by the anchor station RDC. Completed three rappels total and downclimbed the remainder. The narrows sections were prettier than expected. Approach and exit are along trails and were both straightforward.

Comment: This is a guided canyon so solid bolts and webbing every where. 9 plus rappels with a couple down climbable, but needed for guides of newbies. we were able to shuttle 4wd to the top, but do not enter per ropewike gps but turn off hwy 1/8 mile north of turn off and follow power line road to top

Comment: Took someone here for their first time and found it very enjoyable if leaving before 10am. Started at 7am from the trailhead, parking spot was inaccessible except for a high clearance vehicle so we parked on the first road adding about 0.2 miles to the trip. Webbing at the first anchor could use replacement. We found the rap distance estimations an overestimate by 5-10ft at the first two rappels. The exit was very sandy, steep and exposed for the first few hundred feet so not advisable to exit midday.

Comment: Combined with Red Caves (time not included). Encountered plenty of ice. Passed a big slow group from ZAC somewhere in the middle.

Comment: Did this with Mum and Dad. Good parking on the highway by the TH (next to the old Hwy). Approach and exit were reasonable despite the snow cover. Some thin ice, but no water that we needed to negotiate. The first pitch has 3 bolted anchor stations. You only need to use one, but could break the pitch up to use less rope. The highlight narrows were at the end.
