Comments: Time for doing this and Hang ‘em High together. We took and easy shortcut through pretty open country up and over a saddle, then around a shelf that goes right past the Droppin’ Low R5 anchor and back onto the approach trail. This stacks up an amazing raps:climbed elevation ratio, and was still a comfortable half day trip.

Comment: Great canyon with some nice easy rappels. The big rap can be done in 2 stages 1st a 20' down to a large ledge then a 105 off a tree.

Comment: Approach is quite fun however, I love scrambling. Webbing was in good shape. Great views.

Comment: Webbing on Raps 1, 2, and 5 are great, R4 may need replacing soon. Ghosted R3, webbing seems iffy but anchor was moved to tree RDC, Placement is more direct and fun LDC so I would advise continuing left, rock rubble at the left is loose and will come down but could be kicked off if careful and if you have the time, nothing big.

I honestly really enjoyed this canyon, while it might not be super worthwhile to go out of your way, this is a beautiful relaxing day for the local crew. Exit drainage is not nearly as beautiful as Hang ‘Em High though. Approach is not rigorous as previously mentioned, it is very mellow albeit with some class 2-3 slab rock. If this spooks you, you could potentially hike around the base Climbers Left till you round the slopes, but not worth the miles. Note: Group of four went after me and may have replaced the R4&2 Webbing! No guarantees though.

Comment: Spent some time managing anchors and exploring side ledges. R4 is under 100 when dry. Did some trimming on the exit. Fun run.

Comment: Approach is rigorous with no established trail once you head off of the wash. Very navigable with the KML file, so make sure you have it. Canyon is well worth the effort. There are some steeper sections of downclimbing between R2 and R3. R1 is down from the edge of the canyon, so head LDC to access first rap. Brush is very thick right after R5.

Great addition Eric, Josh, and Mandy!

Comment: Caught it with some flow. Found some gear at r4 that was left. Anchors looked good.

Comment: First Descent with Eric and Mandy! This route is a fantastic addition to the Loy Canyon area! It will soon be a popular, well trafficked route like its next door neighbor. We can't wait to run it again! It would be a blast with some flow.

Great

Comment: Great Warm up before hang em high, or a good link up option for a full day adventure. The best new short/ beginner option in loy canyon.
