Comment: Nice day out in a beautiful creek. Did 140' rappel on alternate entrance from tributary into East.

Comment: Fantastic canyon with a lot of beauty and big wow-factor on that last 35-ft jump! Air temperature was around 50 degrees, not sure of the water temperature but it was cold. I had 11mm of neoprene in the chest area and 3-4 on the arms/legs. I was chilly in the water but okay.

Comment: We should call this "The Big East". Of all the canyons in the area it had the most flow by a wide margin during the rendezvous. The big flow, big jumps, huge grotto, deep aquamarine pools, swimming channel, make this one of the most underrated canyons. The approach does suck. The exit is actually very easy now due to a pretty well defined use trail up and then open forest walking to the road.

Comment: Short but a lot of fun. Did the overland entrance which wasn't great, but I've done worse for less. First rappel went as a jump, second was a little too shallow, and the last was jumpable as well after rappelling down to the ledge.

Comment: Ayoooo this canyon was a BANGER! Sure the approach and exit aren't fantastic, but this one needs way more love than it gets. The canyon itself was spectacular and the flow was awesome, really glad we ran it. Each rappel was jumpable, but we touched bottom on the second pool. If I wasn't the first person down on the third rappel, to depth check, I would've jumped! That pool was so deep and I shorted the rope so the other members had fun plopping into the water.

Comment: First time here and what a lovely creek! Good fun to play around in the pools, and it’s very pretty! The NorHex approach was great minus the final descent to the creek… though far better than a bunch of creek walking. We found R2 to be jumpable, though with a technical launch DCL. The pool below was at least 8’ deep… possibly 10’. It gets shallow quickly further away from the rock, so positioning someone where it’s shallow helps the jumper hit a safe target.

Comment: Exiting Dark Creek by a good hour, we decided to run East Canyon Creek just down the road. Rebuilt anchor at R2 (looks like it's underwater in high flow). Pools are amazing and lovely float out through the narrows. Less awesome: the bushwhack back out. Will update the beta on the best route. Ideally, the routes in & out should be flagged to standardize route development.

Comment: First visit after several recommendations to check this one out. Took the NorHex Route in and descended a narrow draw into the creek. Wow, what a canyon! Great bang for the buck. The last rappel into the narrows is spectacular. We found the exit route without much difficulty.

Comment: Checked out East after running Dark. We parked further up the road and bushwhacked directly east to the first drop. The exit at the Cispus river was running very high and very cold- silty glacial melt with rapids. It was easy to stick to the bank but use caution.

Comment: Ran this canyon after a group ran Dark and another ran Davis. So it is possible. We took and abbreviated rout to avoid the 40 minute creek walk and dropped us in almost to the top drop. We jump the first drop from both sides. The second rap is NOT deep enough to jump and set up and anchor around a very visible boulder. R3 was jumped from a ledge about halfway down by the majority of the group.
