Comments: Time includes lower Eaton as well; from the Wilson road lower Eaton turnoff to the bottom of the 100+ foot rappel was 2 hours and that included putting on wetsuits for lower Eaton. Flow was enough to fill up pools, making the canyon quite pretty. Backup log on the final anchor is still well in place, despite significant rain storms that have hit the area.

Comment: Will skip everything in Eaton. The only real thing to report is that there is A LOT of poison oak. Harder to spot out this time of year as it was mostly branches but the colors were beautiful. Not a sight you se often, as the photo suggests. Lots of red and yellow leaves. On the east branch there were some odd anchors that we think were likely left by a climber. On a drop that we down climbed there was 5/8" webbing along with a carabiner. On another there was a steel carabiner. On the last drop into Eaton, the log that was once at top had 11mm rope tied around it that I cut off and we hauled out. All had yellow tape on them. Will return upon request, that's a pricey tag to leave behind. I want to know your story.

Comment: Trip time reflects the approach from Eaton Pinecrest parking and this canyon, not including Eaton (lower) which was another 4.5 hours. This canyon has an amazingly heavy tree canopy and trickles of water flowing down the many slick rock in the creek bottom. The brush is minimal, and the small amounts of Poison Oak avoidable. The final 110' rappel is a surprise compared with everything else being mellow technically, especially sense the anchor is marginal. I backed it up with a short rope tied to a wedged log 20 feet upstream.
