Comment: This was a fun canyon, we could find our way easily. The anchors are in good condition. A 200 ft (60 meter) rope was enough.

Comment: This canyon was a lot of fun. The route was easy to follow and the climbing portions were not bad at all. We did the extra hike up to Elephant Butte proper, which has great views and made for a nice lunch spot. This isn't much extra distance but does require another short climb up a wall.

Comment: my fifth or so time doing this; first time with a group of newbs (mostly rock climbers). it really got them excited in a way that other activities haven't (even climbing). very good adventure

Comment: Our rope got stuck at the first rappel. Either, be mindful of the groove forming that will pinch the rope when descending, or rappel to the first shelf (60-70ft) then be creative and downclimb to the second shelf (about a 15 foot sloped descent). There were three groups in the canyon with us, and the one behind us freed our rope.

Comment: 1st anchor has 5 bolts - all are spinners. There was nothing that greatly concerned me with that many bolts to use as back ups though.
2nd anchor is 3 very cool pitons DCL and appeared to be in very good shape. Not sure why the beta says to "Walk out to the road or follow casual trails to the parking lot to the LEFT" - the parking lot is DCRight as you exit.
