Comments: Plenty of recent rain caused the canyon to be flowing and quite a bit of fun. There is no clear trail on the hike up; just try to vaguely follow the route in the beta and you'll end up on a crest overlooking the first rappel. Downclimb and cross the stream to reach the tree where R1 is anchored. All the rappels we did had webbing anchors already existing in decent condition. Due to all of the water, rock was slick in many areas and not down-climbable. Deepest pool was shin-deep. Several rappels crossed through waterfalls; the current was not challenging but high to get soaked and enjoy some water features! We never ended up donning wetsuits as we weren't ever immersed long enough to get cold under the ~75F partly sunny skies.

Comment: Anchors in great shape. Webbing looks quite fresh. Almost no flow, just a small trickle. All of the possible down climbs were dry enough to be down climbed. I would imagine the flow will increase in coming weeks. One waist deep pool near the base of rappel 2 that’s easily avoided.

Comment: Great canyon for beginners or those who want to keep their adventure to a day trip from Denver.

All rappels include natural features that make for great, simple and straightforward anchors. This canyon stays very close to a main road, and the rappeling section isn't too long, so would be good to bring first timers to.

This time of year (september), there was extremely low water flow, bring your own water!
