Comments: Combined Fall Creek w/ Classic. Total time was to do both (and wandering around a bit in Big Tujunga Creek).

We took the classic approach and dropped in via option 3. Heading down stream was OK with lots of poison oak to avoid. If you just walk down the stream, you should be able to avoid most of it. The stream was flowing nicely and the pothole in R2 was overflowing with a little bit of a hydraulic. Water was not cold and was much appreciated on the mostly sunny day. R4 was a bit slippery and had some force to the waterfall. Have a belayer just in case.

I liked Fall Creek more than Classic. Why not do both! You are already there!

Comment: Fall Creek combined with Classic: Great for Beginners with some experience and above. Relaxed day trip with river wading no higher than waist at most. Rain jackets recommend with neoprene jackets under or neoprene leggings. On this trip some had on full wetsuits and regulated heat with dips in the pools below the falls or while repelling. It was hot under the Sun but nice in the shade. Bush wack on drop in but not terrible. Exit is slogging it out in no higher than thigh to waist high running water over rocks. Good force can be generated in the water if you have a lot of drag.

If you only want to do one do Fall Creek. You will get more bang for your buck on this one — alone or combine it where Classic's 140' last rap is a great combo.

Using a rain jacket is all that’s needed, but I didn’t know this going in, and ANYONE RUNNING COLD wetsuits are only needed in the waterfalls or while waiting so adjust appropriately to your groups dynamics.

Warning: Recent car burglaries have been reported during this trip. No window breaks, however. Looks like one rental car reported to have keyhole scratches and confirmed one vehicle with easy access to horn wires were cut or pulled. Three cars have had their cash inside taken and a few party supplies from one of the three.

Comment: Rained two days prior. Fast moving, strong very dirty brown water with lots of sand and small rocks in it. Waterfalls were narrow but powerful. We were able to really get right into some strong falling water. Very glad to be wearing full 4-3 wet suit and rain jacket. Everything that got wet also got covered in sand and small rocks from in the dirty water flow.

Comment: Lots of Poison oak and a metric poop ton of stinging nettles. You had to choose your poison, Poison Oak, or Stinging nettles for most of the canyon. Rappels are all in great shape however. Low flow of water but Tujunga creek made for some cool dips.

Comment: Night descent. Fall Creek is totally dry. Dropped in via "option 1". There's a bit of a use trail going into the canyon here. This is definitely the best option as it put you quite close to the technical portion while avoiding the brushy portion. Big T creek was flowing slightly. On The exit there is a definite use trail that makes the hike back to the "road" easier than I've ever seen it in regards to route finding and bushwhack.

Comment: We either had the slowest Fall Creek descent ever, or ran this on the way out of Great Falls of the Fox. Fall Creek is... the same as yesterday, decent flow and a fun little canyon. Fall Creeks flow is actually comparable to GFOTF right now which is kinda sad. The last rap was much more enjoyable in a wetsuit:) Willie: All the anchors are now new glue-in bolts.

Comment: Time is for Classic and Fall Creek. Fall Creek is a very pretty canyon, my group enjoyed it a bunch. The last rap we got drenched on, I was pretty cold in my shorts and raincoat. There was a couple at the bottom watching us as we did the last rappel.

Comment: I tackled this after I finished Classic canyon. Time reflects both canyons since the hike back up is the same. I took the first drop in as I was done bushwacking and battling poison oak for the day. First rap DCR webbing good. Second rap was mid canyon, webbing good. 3rd rap DCR webbing good. 4th rap, center canyon (blue webbing). There was another set of anchors DCL with black webbing however, the webbing was faded and beat up. The blue webbing anchor worked great. Rope retrieval was no issue. Another day outside. Enjoy.

Comment: Using a new drop in location - probably noted here someplace. Nice little flow, all anchors solid. Last rap had nice easy flow a nice chill day combined with Classic

Comment: Time includes classic and fall creek. Most rappels that were slung with 1” blue tubular webbing were set up in an “interesting” way; they also are not set up to where they extend past the rock shelf so they have a chance of core shotting the rope. We used our shoe to protect the rope except for LAMAR as we were worried we wouldn’t have enough daylight to make it back. Water was flowing decently enough to get wet on the rappels. Gorgeous day out and not a lot of bushwhacking required (although at the shortcut drop in, right before the creek there is a carved out pass way that goes through a decent amount of PO. Also a tad chilly but doable with just a rain jacket.

Comment: Easy to follow trail up to descent. Some pretty hard bushwhacking in the beginning of the descent down the canyon. No water at any of the Rappel sites and completely dry. Some very small trickles during the bushwhacking. Big Tujunga Creek has very little water flow.

Comment: We ran Fall Creek on the way back from Great Falls of the Fox using its express exit, so the 1 hour is the time from the road, back to the road. The rain during the day stoked up the flow and made Fall Creek Amazing! (see pic) All the anchor webbing is new, so no worries there. I trimmed some of the PO to get it out of the way on the final rappel on the lower set of bolts.

Comment: Great, short canyon. We dropped in using the furthest entry point, when the trail crosses the creek. There was plenty of water flowing, which was welcomed on a hot summer day. At the beginning there was some bushwacking, but nothing too bad.
