Comments: Canyon took 6 hours car to car. Replaced almost every anchor station. The canyon description doesn’t seem entirely accurate, there were more sections with ~50ft rappels than described. It is possible that at lower water you could down climb those rappels. At the current flow the granite slabs were too slick and steep to safely down climb. Those sections can be easily rapped or hiked around. Quality canyon but lower fork creek is significantly higher quality.

Comment: We hiked the ridge between Fort Creek and Fortknocker – 1.3 miles and 1,700 in elevation. Trail was primitive and steep. Then we bushwacked down to the creek above rap 1 and geared up. Most rappels had some webbing around trees or willows. We fiddled rap 3. Some rappels were optional and easily downclimbed. Lots of debris, trees, and deadfall in the creek to climb over, under and around. We connected to Fort Creek and proceeded down canyon. Time from car to car was 6 hours for the whole creek.
