Comments: We started pretty late in the day, around 12:30pm, and it started drizzling a bit toward the end, but nevertheless had a wonderful time descending this canyon, and had the sun on the water for the first part of it. A gorgeous canyon with easy access and exit -- the only travertine canyon we did in the area and had a great time. We exited at the Alt-exit after warnings from the Toros group about the Dutchman downstream, and got back to our car just before sunset around 5:30.

Comment: Rapping R1 at 9am. Climbing the exit ladder at 11.35am. Successfully avoided the super heavy storm late in the day. Most of the raps seem to take a dry-line (at least in this flow level), wetter lines would be a nice option.

Comment: We entered at 9:30am, knowing the forecast was heavy rain at noon. We planned to exit using the alternative exit after R4, and knew there were exits after each rappel, so it’s a non-committing canyon up until the alt exit. Flow was slightly high due to the previous afternoon’s rains. We exited at 11:40, just as it started raining. We had the chance to cross several tributary creeks as we hiked out, and watched the runoff accumulate from the pastures, enter the side creeks, and then returned to the top of R1 to witness it in full flash, 40 minutes after the first raindrops. It was probably big enough to be unsafe 20 minutes after the first raindrops. At 12:15, we watched it rise 2’ in 10 minutes. We left as it was still rising, so not sure where it peaked.

Comment: Partly sunny. We spoke with Will and arranged the exit thru his property with no problems. The section downstream of R4 was great and has a really different character than the first part- is narrower and has small waterfalls flowing in from the sides. We didn't find any great slides, as the travertine surface is very grippy, but the blue water and the "Gemelas" (twins) waterfalls were beautiful!

The exit track was a bit confusing. The description worked out fine. Luckily we hiked across that pasture in the dry season...

Comment: The rock in the canyon is very slick. We found it to be more so than other canyons nearby. A team member broke their ankle on the first slide just below the bridge. This slide can be by passed on the right. We approached the slide from the rdc and there is a first short drop of about 5ft with a flat ledge below the water. The slide was pushy and bumpy with flow. Water flow conditions were moderate to moderate high.. We retreated with help from local volunteers and were able to exit the head of the canyon in a timely manner. Cell phone service was received just up the hill from the bridge. We were thankful to have a guide.
