Comment: The 180-foot multipitch with mid-station rain room is special. Also a couple good crack rappels. Half dozen downclimbs are a nice bonus. No jumps or slides to speak of. Solid 3-star canyon. Would like to do in higher flow - shoot for July next year. A good one to take new students in low flow. Easy clean approach and exit. Only 1 1/2 drive from Seattle. Bring paddle board for the lake next time.

Comment: Did this at the wrong time. Expected moderate flow and was quite low. Bushwhack isn’t too bad except for the last 100ft or so getting to the creek. Didn’t see an approach trail up to the old “road” but woods are easy to navigate. All anchors were in good condition. Very short time in canyon. At this flow rebelay was straight forward. Pull of the upper rope from the rebelay was a bit challenging.

Comment: Second descent, years later and in much different weather. All the bolted anchors survived well. Flows were lower than before, but in bright sunshine R3 filled the air with rainbows. We added a redirect bolt so R3 could be rapped in the flow. We add bolts to numerous unbolted raps. Comparing photos I had forgotten just how high the flows were on the first descent.

Comment: First descent on a wet October day. The hungry bear was out in force, eating a lot of our team's gear. While bolting R4 I was confused by how wherever I positioned myself out of the water, it would find me a few minutes later. It wasn't until afterwards that the teammates positioned upstream explained it had started raining and the creek had risen notabily in the time they stood waiting.

A few obstacles were bypassed, but R7 & R8 were spicy with high flow in concentrated channels which needed stemming.
