Comments: Great day through the canyon. Few swimming parts for 6 ft tall ppl.

Currently a pretty fresh dead deer in the first few pools (we think less than a week old). It's easily passed but just a FYI if you have squeamish member(s).

Comment: Woof, waited for several days for the groups in front of us to clear through. They were very slow and loud. Good thing we brought a bottle of Jack and some instruments to kill the time. Had flashed the afternoon before so everything was very full, pretty warm and muddy with tons of debris. Good clean forest duff stew never hurt anybody. With warm air temps and monsoon water, we were fine nekkid. Didn't chill at all. Our noobie got a toe boo-boo trying to emulate our stemming moves. Should survive with treatment.

Comment: Brought three newbies into Keyhole for their first canyon and had a wonderful time. Water level got up to waist high for our shortest member and all the webbing/links looked great.

Comment: Another great run down Keyhole. Passed a family of 10 who let us use their rope but insisted on harmonizing random Frozen songs while we tried to communicate on rappel. Thankfully we soon distanced ourselves from the would be von Trapps and were able to enjoy this Zion classic.

Comment: Ran keyhole at night, great new way to experience a Zion classic. We enjoyed the dark solitude and joy of introducing a Zion canyon to four people one of which had never been in a canyon before. wetsuits thickness ranged from 3mm to 5/4. Not one person was cold however we moved fast and completed the canyon in 50 minutes. Keyhol at night is a treat, you should try it!

Comment: Fun lazy day in a canyon, top to bottom in 30 minutes, overall about 1.5 hours. Only got cold in the last narrow section when some wind came through (was wearing 3mm and put my rain jacket on for the wind). Mostly leg/waist deep pools and one swimmer.

Comment: Made a quick run through Keyhole as we were combining with Pine Creek later in the day. Several moderately deep water sections (as per normal) with nothing stagnant. The group had varying levels of wetsuits from 5/4/3 to two layers of 3/2 to 5/4/3 + 2 shorty. Everyone was warm enough (though air temps were pretty warm for this time of year at ~50-60 F outside of the canyon).

Comment: Made a quick run through through Keyhole to beat the incoming weather. Passed a group of 4 and group of 12 early on. Was comfortable in only a rain jacket. Hand-lined the first rap. A pretty section of slot! Quite dark. Rains started as we exited the canyon, but we hung around to ensure the other groups made it out. The large group we passed consisted of several children who were terrified as they exited the narrows. By this time, it had been coming down hard and the water was flowing through the canyon. If the rain hadn’t subsided, the canyon likely would have flashed and the family may not have made it out. Always check the weather, especially if you’re traveling in a large, slow group with young kids…

Comment: Took my parents through Keyhole! We wore 4/3 wetsuits and I (who runs cold) only shivered once. We took our sweet time with a lot of partner assists, an extra handline, and a rappel on the approach (there are two bolts DCR with no webbing — I set it up for parents and then derigged to scramble down/follow). There was one pool I had to swim across but the rest were 4’ deep or less. I get the sense that Keyhole stays this cold through the summer — we could really feel the air temps change inside the canyon!

Comment: Take a full suit minimum 4/3 as some of the pools are chest deep or neck deep if you are below 5'9'. One of the adventure companies in virgin suggested using a farmer John wetsuit but that would have been a mistake for the shorter people in the group but we all took full suits. Water was cold. It was a great day in Keyhole, water was clean and all anchors were good condition.

Comment: Most of the pools are dried up, but there was still one pool that was waist deep, and few other shallow pools. Water was stagnant, but not smelly. Just a quick run in the late afternoon. One rappel with a single large glue-in bolt spins in the hole, but there is enough glue that it's not coming out. All other anchors seem OK.

Comment: No wetsuit needed. Chest deep water, but out quick into sun.
