Comments: This is a really special route with alot to see. The ruin sites scattered along the approach are pretty incredible. The descent is short but very pretty. R1 and R4 are top notch free hangs. All webbing is shot. We didn't replace any of it and ghosted our way through (recommended). No webbing on R4 juniper, we fiddled it. It is worth mentioning that this small juniper is THE ONLY WAY DOWN for R4. We didn't see any other feasible natural anchor options and R3 is way too far back to extend. Please heed instructions in beta and take extreme care when descending. 3.5hrs.

Comment: Great route! Approach is fantastic. Really diverse and the ruins are extremely well preserved. All anchors good. Last rappel is the best. The exit was a little weird trying to avoid the private property but Im pretty sure we did it. Definitely one of my top 5 Sedona routes !

Comment: What a fun canyon! Didn’t find the dino tracks, but the ruins were fantastic, and really elevate the whole experience. Love those overhanging first and last raps too. F-sticked the last one, and it’s a perfect candidate for that. Agree that keeping rope a foot DCL of where it kinda wants to be on the last rap minimizes edge sharpness. Had kids down to 9y/o along, and they did great. Routing track and beta are helpful. When in doubt, hug cliff bases to minimize brush.

Comment: We took our sweet ass time on this one, lots of sitting around and exploring the extensive amount of relics found on the approach.

Approach gets vague at times and hard to follow forcing you to bushwhack quite a bit!!

First and last raps are a real treat!

Definitely worth doing, could combine with Hang Em' High for a full day since they both are off Loy Trail.

Comment: Fantastic canyon! I gave it 5 stars, primarily for its historically rich approach. Many indigenous well preserved ruins along a remarkable ledge system. More ruins including granaries on other parts of the approach and exit. Also rock art and dinosaur tracks. Include the final rappel and this is my favorite Sedona canyon so far. All webbing and anchors in good condition. Fiddled the final rappel. 7 hours included 2 hours exploring historical treasures, and teaching beginners techniques.

Comment: Fantastic approach, with many cool sites along the way. And the last rappel is one of the best I’ve done in Sedona. We had a great time exploring the alcoves and ruins along the route. As suggested in the beta, stay to the right on the exit.

Comment: Great canyon with some great new friends. A well rounded canyon with interesting side attractions, mini stemming section and really beautiful big rappel at the end. A new classic?

1 hr approach 1 hr descent 30 min exit

2 people moving at a good pace. We skipped the stops along the way and got to r1 on an hour. I would add an hour to the approach with a group and keep your eyes peeled for dinosaur tracks and ruins along the way.

Downclimbed R2 moderate.

R3 looks to steep and slabby to downclimb and has maiden hair growing on the one good foothold.

R4 Edge protection reccoemended and easy to place on edge. Not needed but your rope will appreciate it. We fiddle sticked this route but noticed rope grooves already forming on our way down. The bolted anchor is great placement for the fiddle stick. Using a fiddle stick or retrievable anchor = Good!

All anchors in good shape. No noteworthy challenges on the approach.
