Comments: 5 hrs car-to-car with a summit of Liberty Cap, drop off the top, and then down through Lower Ute (8 raps total). Definitely combine this with Ute. All anchors in good shape. Super scenic. A fun day out!

Comment: Fun, short canyon - leisurely pace. Used a toggle on all raps to avoid making rope grooves worse. Down climbed the crack.

Comment: Time is car-to-car for Liberty Cap and Lower Ute combo. Webbing was in fine condition. Easy to avoid exacerbating rope grooves at R1 by pulling from further back RDC (or rigging retrievable). Ants covering R2 tree anchor. R3 was set back from lip making the rappel 100’. Updated beta. Cleared quite a bit of rockfall in the rappel line along the slab section.

Comment: Combined with Lower Ute. I would only recommend Liberty Cap with Lower Ute. It was a fun addition. Multiple anchors at the first rappel. We opted to walk down to a tree with a sling for the first rappel. You could rappel in a watercourse from a tree. It would be a better bottom belay.

Comment: Anchors/Webbing were all bomber and in great shape. This is a straight forward canyon and good for beginners.
