Comment: About ~175ft down the 200ft rappel, there is an added bolt on a little ledge. This is to make the pull of the 200ft rappel easier and avoid stuck rope. Only the last person down would need to use it if they choose because the ledge is tight.

Comment: Good canyon with some fun rappels and nice features! We took the approach from Canyon Overlook Trail which added a lot of unnecessary time and elevation gain. Would definitely recommend the typical approach for Spry Canyon. Pretty fall colors still in effect! Very little snow, some ice, easily avoidable. There was one ankle deep pool at the bottom of a rappel that could be jumped over or belayer can pull others over it easily. The last 2 raps are pretty sweet, very nice view. No pull issues on anything using CEM knot. Definitely recommend as a short day easy dry canyon run!

Comment: A truly enjoyable and scenic canyon. Starting at 8:40am UT time, the approach took us 2.5 hours while enjoying the views. Navigation was no problem. Approaching the saddle above Spry, we stayed right and descended a gully toward up canyon to get down into the drainage. We carried four 200ft ropes and 90+ feet of webbing. Replaced the webbing at the second-to-last rappel (off the buttress) and made sure the quicklink is over the edge. It gets wedged in a crack though so will be difficult to rig when coming up to it. On the last rappel, clipping the two quicklinks together with a carabiner for courtesy rigging will help everyone but the last person have an easier start getting on rappel. By using careful rope management and setting rope length we did not have any issues with stuck ropes. Weather was 40F-79F, and a jacket was nice to have in the morning during the shady hike in. Everyone carried around 2.5L water and had no issues.
