Comment: Very beginner friendly canyon. There was one tricky rappel with the best way seeming to be going down before the log through the slot. There’s some amazing slots with nothing too difficult. We did the early exit which was fine if you’re comfortable on easy slab. Great time.

    CONDITIONS

Approach: The approach from the parking area is pretty straight forward and easy to navigate.

Water Exposure: The canyon is dry, no water or mud present.

Anchors & Rappels: There are three anchors present in the canyon, each have two, glue-in bolts. We rebuilt the webbing or clean up each anchors.

The final anchor has two bolts with sepparated chains. The chains are intentionally not connected so as to prevent a log from potentially getting caught in the chains during a flash flood and ripping out the bolts. When we got to this anchor someone had rigged it with webbing so we removed the webbing and fiddled off the chains.

Exit: The official NPS Climbers Exit is, overall, not that bad, but the crux of it is easy to loose footing. The crux is momentary though, which is nice. This exit route would be hazardous, if not impossible, if icy or [too] wet.

Comment: Excellent, laid back day with the wife! Spent the night on the side of the road on the outskirts/backside of Arches for the early approach. Unseasonably warm day made it a laid back romp - we had internet connection while starting the canyon and were able to play around with live streaming the entrance to the canyon. Easy, bolted rappels and a beautiful exit. A miniature version of other canyons we enjoy going to.

Comment: Wow, what a fantastic canyon - probably the best one I'd yet run in the Moab area. Really interesting and beautiful canyon. Make sure to have your beta if attempting the slickrock exit; it's quite the route out. Route was marked with small cairns - thanks whoever put them up - but still good to be on your game on that one. When hitting the upper "sidewalk" go climber's right and follow it around the corner all the way to the end. Great day out!

Comment: * A fun canyon with interesting rock formations. Partners had two jeep 4x4. The drive has some sandy spots in the hills & flats with some rough rock bumps.
    • A few tight cracks & a crawl under. Did the slab climbers route with 5.10 slick rubber shoes. Pleasant walk out along the rim with views.
