Comments: Time reflects doing a side run of Wilson Mountain Canyon. Would have been about 1.5 hours shorter without that. Mormon Spires had consistently amazing views and was pretty straightforward after the initial bouldery descent over the edge of the mesa. All anchors were in good condition other than the last one not being visible to me, so I ghosted it.

Comment: R3 Replaced to a single loop of black webbing around the boulder, please maintain. R4 will does not quite need replacing but is tied with two short pieces of black tubular to make a loop, I'd plan on replacing if returning for a second run.
Vertical drops are comfortable and awesome. Main picture is of R3, R1 has a more immediate start. Took my time, R1 opens up into a beautiful exposed view that had me calming down for the first rappel, very easy to see why this would not be a recommend for beginners (along with the bushwacking). bottom of R3 contains avoidable water.

Comment: Awesome route! Really enjoy how vertical the canyon is. All drops feel very big with far reaching views. Approach is long but fairly easy, can be hard to follow up top but GPS map is on point. Replaced webbing on R2, all others look good. The pool at the last rap is easily avoidable by stopping on the first ledge and traversing around. So cool that you can look back and see the entire route from the bottom! Exit is a long rock hop down a canopy covered creek. I like going to the further “get out point” to jump back on Brin’s Mesa Trail rather then getting out early and bushwacking over. 5.5hrs.

Comment: Insanely good conditions on this warm January day! This route is extraordinarily beautiful & worth the approach (and exit). Pretty stellar views throughout and long, fun rappels. The last pool is pretty hard to avoid but if you are trying to avoid it, make sure you stay high enough and swing right (while on rope, or LDC) to grab onto a little bush/tree and avoid the pool. It was a little over knee deep when we went Jan 26th.

Comment: We were moving at a moderate pace with a few stops and even took time to replace broken laces on a shoe!
Brins Mesa Trail is boring and easy hiking. Once you turn off the trail there is a fair amount of bushwhacking. Once at the top of Rainbow Ridge, there is hardly any trail and the bushwhacking through dense Manzanita intensifies! The rappels were pretty sweet with a beautiful backdrop! Definitely made up for the vague bushy approach up top. We stopped short of the pool on the last rap and downclimbed the steep slab on the left above the pool. Exit looked like it was going to be another bushwhack but the rock hop down the drainage was pleasantly clean with plenty of shade.

Comment: This was a very fun and scenic route. The approach was steep in some areas but not extremely difficult. All anchors were in good condition. The first rap would probably be the most memorable as the exposure and scenic views make it seem much bigger/ better than it really is. We used a fiddle stick on the big raps and it pulled nicely although the first anchor makes placement of the fiddle difficult. We celebrated EMoorcrofts birthday by fireman belaying him on the last rap, singing happy birthday, and forcing him to get wet in the pot hole.

Comment: Time is car to car from brins mesa.
10 people and 2 brand new! This approach option was quicker and provided a loop. The approach is slightly challenging with some steep loose terrain after you leave the mesa. The traverse to R1 was easy and straightforward and we were able to downclimb into the canyon and land about 20 yards from r1. Temps were still hot and we were able to filter some water for the way out. All anchors looked in good condition. Although none of the rappels were as memorable as the nearby Mormon monster, rapps 2 and 3 were incredibly scenic and fun, making it a bigger bang for your buck with the rainbow ridge approach. Last pothole was calf to thigh deep and was a fun obstacle.

Comment: Starts out as more like cliffoneering, but becomes more canyon like after second rappel. Liked it better than Mormon. Less bushy than Mormon and more better rappels, but does feel more like cliffoneering. One pool at last rappel, but most of team was able to avoid it by doing a Matrix move on rope and running on wall LDC to small ledge. Adjust rope after each person, as there is an edge and this will not be good on the rope. Did big rappel as one 300', but could easily be done as max 200' rappel. Replaced webbing on first and second rappel, all other webbing looked fairly new and in good condition. No rope pull issues. You are welcome Arizona.
