Comments: Gate was open, so we drove our gear up to the top, them moved the vehicle back down. Good thing as it was locked again when we finished the creek. Erp! It was a nice treat to hike up without a pack. First time back in Northwoods for me since 2019... A bunch of new logs down across the creek (likely due to winter storms), but otherwise much as I remembered. Some of the best creekwalking ever in the Pacific NW with long stretches of bedrock. Not even slippery. Could have used a little more water, and R3 could use a bolt for an anchor, but other than that a lovely spring outing. The big falls is still a joy to rappel.

Exit was not that bad compared to 2019. Some logs to duck under and go around, but pretty easy to stay in the creek. The one big logjam we encountered we detoured around by following an obvious elk trail DCL, and circling around.

Comment: Perfect flow for this creek. The bedrock stretches are pretty amazing with surprisingly nice traction despite the flow. Anchored DCL and rapped DCR on the big drop. In the flow but just out of the really rowdy stuff. It looks like the recent storms haven't been kind to the creek. Lots of newly downed trees in the creek still sporting their buds.

Comment: Would have been fun with more water, but still splashy. After the winter of 2018-2019, the last 0.25mi of the creek is a heinous thrash. Other than that, a beautiful run. The big falls is a joy to rappel.
