Comment: Flowing perfect level. Pools all filled. No hydraulic hazards. First anchor has been removed, but this rappel can easily be bypassed on right to do the 20 meter rappel. All anchors in good shape. Trails easy to follow. WATER UNBEARABLY COLD. We were shivering in 5mm wetsuits. Like, Illusions in April. Like, Zion in spring. No sun in this entire canyon. Water temperature only a few degrees above freezing - nights at this elevation can be subfreezing this time of year. I would not do this canyon again with a 5mm. I'd say 6mm or more. Also with booties and possibly gloves, at least in winter. Amazing canyon overall however!

Comment: We had some trouble getting to the canyon. That accounted for maybe 30 mins. Someone should make a kml for this (forgot my phone so I couldn't). The traverse/pasamanos LDC seems to be missing some bolts, after the first 3 there is a big gap. We just went down through the middle of the canyon without any problems. I'm not sure what the danger of entrapment shown in the topo is referring to. Even at lower water it didn't seem like there would be any keepers in here. I'm guessing that it would be nice to stay up high in high flow conditions as it's quite narrow here. Although I've changed the rating to reflect conditions during most of the year, I realize that in high flow, this canyon would likely be a 4B I R. Water was very cold and clear. You really need at least one headlamp in the group for the first part. It is very dark. A gorgeous and fun canyon.

Comment: Very spécial little canyon that is definetly worth it if you’re going through El Chico National Park. The Park itself is gorgeous. We did only Paraiso Escondido but we heard El Colorado was worth doing in that area though we couldn’t do it for we were lacking of infos. Waterflow was very low though the few deep pools are icy ! We ve been a bit confused to find the walking access (there are many tracks). My friend will update KLM track (ropewiki description is not really enough to go efficiently to the canyon)
