Comments: A lovely straight forward little descent, reminiscent of the nearby Jacob’s Ladder route. The rappels were pretty decent and there was a lot of downclimbing, leading you to the beautiful Red Box area of WCC!
We had a beginner with us that had never rappelled before. We set up a pre-rappel, spent time teaching, and ran him through a few times before the first actual rappel. The first rap is 120’ and mostly free hanging, super fun!! He did really well!
All rappel stations have webbing but this route can be entirely ghosted…
Once at WCC wet donned our 4/3 wetsuits and explored Red Box, lots of swimming. Very pretty, a short red version of the more famous White Box up stream.
The exit was quick to find and a total treat! Essentially you up climb the canyon next door! All 4th and a few low 5th class climbs up a very clean rocky watercourse! I found it to be fun and engaging! My favorite WCC exit by far! The fall colors were poppin’ off, had a great time!!
It’s worth noting, the trail to access this canyon is fairly rough, high clearance 4x4 and good tires recommended…

Comment: All anchors were good. 2 solid Handlines for the Rim Tank Canyon exit. Found my hiking stick left behind at the exit on 6/10/2014, but lost my bear bells. My happiest place! Please help keep this place sacred. Thank you! :-)

Comment: Anchors looked good. Handlines for exit in place and solid. Will update some info since the route is gaining in popularity. The swimming hole downstream from the last rappel is not to miss. Enjoy

Comment: The first Descent was worthwhile so we gave it a second run this weekend. Overall an enjoyable option. High clearance vehicle reccomended.
30 min approach. 3 hour canyon. 3 hours creek. 2.5 hours exit.

Comment: Lots of boulder hopping and down climbs for a short route. Time includes exploration and swimming in the creek after the first Descent. Bring webbing
