Comment: Parked the car at the bottom and just hiked the road up to the drop in point. Flow was pretty low but the rappels were still fun and the jumps were good. Going off the diving board was super fun!

Comment: Action packed short, beautiful, straightforward canyon with 7 jumps and 3 rappels. 5’, 5’, 12’, 8’, 30’, 10’ jumps, 3 rappels 50’ and 45’, very pleasant creek walk 10 min. We practiced ascending R2 and R4. Shuttle doesn't save much time - only 30 min. approach and 400 foot gain if hiking up.

Comment: All good. Did laps of the diving board. Found there's now glue-ins on the last rap, DCL.

Comment: Fun day playing in Pin, still a decent amount of water flowing through, sun was shining, life was good. A really great creek for newer folks to build skills and comfort in the canyon. A couple people got their first canyon jumps in today. Diving board good as always. For the last drop we rapped from a tree about 10 feet above the small hand-line anchor DCL (DCL bolts no good, DCC from the boulder is meh, DCR had too much lose rock). You need about 90 feet of rope to reach the bottom from there. In this flow the rap line is fantastic, you can engage the heart of the flow or stay just on its edge.

Comment: Beware rock fall on the final rappel DCR. It wants to come down. Consider using the middle boulder or an alternate anchor. Beware loose rock across this entire falls

Comment: Great day. Water was very high. The pools weren’t whitewater but had a strong push to them. We jumped the first obstacle DCL from a tall ledge. Water was deep and nobody touched. R1 needed a safety line as the underwater push was significant. R2 we went off of a tree DCR. R3 was very spicy. Upper pool was all whitewater. Rope management was key and safety was set up. The second portion was downclimbed left all the way around to the exit of the pool. R4 was rowdy. Rappelled DCR and stayed out of the flow. Used the log DCR in the pool to avoid the hydraulics. We stayed around and jumped the log and set up a rope swing! Very fun. R5 was spicy and pulls the canyoner to the right where you could get stuck in the pool. We rigged off of tree dcl and jumped from a ledge. One person touched. R6 we used DCR. DCL set up was under strong water or missing, couldn’t tell. Great day out. Sun was shining and the water was very cold.

Comment: A terrific day out in Pin. There was much jumping. Rigged a (temporary) rope swing off the diving board in the Punchbowl and some folks practiced ascending directly up out of the water, transitioning to rappel & dropping back into the pool. Lovely sunny day to hang out in the pools. Bad bolt at R6 (DCL) was removed; hopefully the next team through can replace it.

Comment: A really great beginner canyon. If you are just breaking into Class=C canyons and want to get wet and feel what it is to rap in water this is perfect. If you are experienced and want to have a play day in a beautiful short canyon, you won't be bored. Higher flow would be more fun though. I super love that you peeps go find these for us to enjoy!! Kudos to you and thank you!

Comment: Added bolt station DCL below R1 for a guideline. Added single bolt in narrows of R5. Both are optimal for high flow situation. Cut logs out of R1 and R3 pools to avoid strainer possibilities. Since flow has decreased, we moved R2 webbing from tree DCR to a large upright log in the middle of the creek. Great canyon for a sunny day.

Comment: Beautiful day in Pin Creek. Water was a little spicy for sure - paths that were normally downclimbs were not safely passable, so some alternate routes were taken. Logs have moved around quite a bit since last year, so many anchors no longer exist. R2 is a good candidate for bolting to access the chute DCR, but we just rigged to a tree well out of the flow DCR to get down. Fun in high flow, but much prefer moderate flow so that you can be more in the direct flow of water when rappeling.

Comment: use shallow water jumping techniques in many of these pools. Always send someone first to check depth, debris, hydraulics etc
