Comments: Great day out, route finding on the way down wasn't terrible, but we did lose the trail near where you enter the first dry wash. The descent from the car to the beginning of the canyon took us an hour, the canyon took three hours, and the ascent back to the car took 1:40. We encountered two black bears hanging out at the entrance to the escape gully. We had to scale some 4th class scree to circumvent the bears. Keep an eye out. We saw a total of three bears on our trip, evidence of mountain lion activity, and big horn sheep.
