Comments: We followed the Road Trip Ryan directions, approaching off of old sheffield road. There was one unavoidable pool of water at the bottom of the only rappel. We had a ton of fun rigging a guided rappel off of a meet anchor (aka the first rappeler) and seeing if we could keep everyone else dry!

We didn't quite finish the loop after a few of the group members struggled with one of the climbing sections where it got quite narrow. We hiked out in the beautiful sunset.

Comment: This canyon has 1 rappel, that you need gear for (I’m not sure who said it’s down-climbable- it is not.) and the canyon itself is SO TIGHT that you (me, a 5’7” 130lb woman with no b**bs and no butt..) haveto take your pack off to get through 90% of this canyon. If I did it without gear (not sure how I would w the rap), it MIGHT have been enjoyable. But with gear, it was not. Not enough technicality to be called a canyoneers canyon. And the rap makes it so gear is required. Exit was all sand and then up-climbing? With packs? No thanks. Hard pass. The hype around this canyon is insane.

Comment: Our first visit to Red Breaks. Did the canyoneering route from the drill hole to the main fork, then hiked back to the main fork instead of reascending the big west fork. Great scenery and a fun easy day. Rappel was well-rigged off a bush LDC. There was knee-deep muddy water at the bottom of the rappel. Dry otherwise.
