Comments: Great canyon. We descended this twice during the 2nd int'l rendezvous in 2023, so that some late arrivals would get the chance to do it. The water was lower than in 2019 but it was still great. Just after the start we skipped the gorgeous looking pools because of the constriction downstream, and I think the locals never put in anchors there, but it looks quite do-able. The water at the guided rappel was low enough that a couple people just rappelled straight down, but we set up the line anyway and it is still recommended because the water is pretty strong if you rap straight down.
