Comments: 5-start canyon for sure! Probably the closest to a New Zealand canyon there is in Washington (so far!). Incredible sculpted rock features, beautiful spicy water, mossy walls.

High flow (not sure it ever gets much lower), but very manageable and in many places looked worse than it really was. Jumped a lot of the obstacles into very cold water.

Flagging “Special challenge” for an easily avoidable, but entirely unescapable, siphon which is identifiable from upstream but invisible as you approach it in the water. Photo being added to the beta.

A number of the anchors could do with being doubled-up.

Will definitely be back in future.

Comment: Amazing day in Ruth! Rains the night before didn't change conditions too much from the week before. We think that the colder conditions helped offset the rain as we likely had less flow from the glacier.

The canyon was quite cold. For slower groups it would likely be brutally so. Overall flow was high for this region. Lots of hydraulics, strainers, pourovers and other water features. Our conditions were arguably more A5 than A4.

Comment: Definitely among one of the top canyons in the area! Insanely low pay to play along with top notch beauty deep committing sections and aquatic nature make this short little canyon 5 star in my book! Take caution to make sure you do not enter in too high of water as this creek runs quite high most the year. The creek was moderate flow and even at this level there are still places that without care you could get trapped!

Comment: The most clear and pristine water I've ever seen in WA. Amazing rock types. Good flow. Very aquatic in nature. 2 noteworthy rappels, 2 jumps about 15 feet, and 2 nice downclimbs. A very scenic gorge - worthy of repeat due to the low pay-to-play. The flow is just too big even at this time of year to rap in it. Many swims and small jumps. Very very cold. Neoprene cap a must to stay joyful.
