Comment: Most of the anchors were dug up and rebuilt after the November 2025 floods. One anchor towards the latter part of the canyon, I didn't inspect the keystone/webbing. I dug about 2 feet deep and likely had another 1.5 ft to go, but I felt confident in the webbing since it looked new and was not stiff or faded at all. We Meat anchor backed it up and it never budged, but a trowel would be good to bring. Also, after we added a frost knot to the R1, the length was just a tiny bit short of being free over the edge, but rope was still pullable with a bit of friction. The webbing could be extended a bit for a cleaner pull.

Otherwise, fun straightforward canyon with minimal/easy approach/exit and relatively short shuttles.

Comment: We were very slow because I am recovering from foot surgery. Also, one of the three teenagers with us was extremely timid on the 180' rappel. But everyone did great and had fun!

It looks like a lot of people are missing a critical turn on the approach hike. Soon after the first upclimb (10 feet or so), turn left.

Comment: We missed the first turn-off on the approach and ended up on a sketchy ridge trying to find the the right way in. We lost a couple hours re-tracking our steps to find the right approach again. I highly recommend eagle-eying that GPX before you make that first major turn-off left.

Once we found the correct turn-off, things were pretty smooth sailing from there. Anchors were in good shape. Didn't need to replace any webbing. Pretty accessible canyon overall. We enjoyed it.

Comment: Ran this as a quick canyon on the way out of the park. It is my favorite short day out of the "insect canyons" and is more fun than Vinagroon/Arachnophobia. The 180' alternate rappel is great, highly recommend that option.

All anchors were in good condition

Comment: Most anchors were still standing (yay for Cressman Mongo anchors!) and only needed to be dug out and webbing replaced. One or two anchors had to be rebuilt. Any anchors left untouched were downclimbed or and alternate anchor was used (rap 3). Fun short day.

Comment: Great option to get people comfortable with cairn anchors! We had a fun half-day with some leapfrogging at a good speed.

Comment: Anchors and webbing looked good. Make sure to backtrack 100’ from the parking area to start the hike in the right wash. We got sucked in by a well worn trail to the north and followed what we thought were approach footprints up loose ridges before backtracking to the right wash.

Comment: Like some other reports, we got off on our approach. Easy enough to get back on course once we got up to the ridge. Webbing at all anchors looked new. The anchors themselves were all well built and solid.

Comment: Haven't run this canyon in a while but decided to have a relaxing day and take a friend that hasn't been down it before through. There were 4 improperly constructed anchors that we fixed. Rap 2 had webbing just tied around the rock in a loop and it came apart when my husband lifted the rock to inspect it. Raps 5, 6, & 7 had girthed the rock but not cinched the hitches so they were literally just webbing being held but the weight of the rocks and well constructed formations. All webbing was new and undamaged. It was a great overcast day so nice and cool in the lower section.

Comment: Beautiful canyon with an easy approach. Amazing geology and some very unique rocks. Anchors were in great condition. Most of the rappels seemed slightly shorter than what the beta suggested.

Comment: We got a bit off on the approach and summited a ridge to the north of the main Scorpion wash. Many others apparently have gone this way too given all the foot tracks. It was easy enough to to get down into the main wash from this summit, just a bit of extra climbing overall.

The canyon has nice rappels with plenty of "fun" lips. Also many short downclimbs to add to the fun factor. All the anchors are good with fresh webbing, but I will note that some of the rock cairns are not super strong, so don't be to bouncy on them.
