Comments: Very long sustained narrows that twist and turn. Very fun and beautiful!

Approach from Middle Lep Vista without car shuttle: 1.5hr.

First large pool early on I was barely able to stem over. My partner was not and went in to chest deep.

Water cold but manageable without wetsuit. (Reccommend stripping down and bring an extra dry layer)

More small pools throughout we were both able to stem over.

The tightness crux is a long totally dark narrow hall in the last narrows. I am 6’6” and 195lbs. I barely fit with some effort. My partner is of athletic build and very fit however she could not fit and had to back track a bit to where she could chimmney up and stem over it.

Final pool just above waist deep.

Exit drainage has some low 5th class obstacles and plenty of scrambling. Took us about 2hrs.

Comment: Stayed low the whole way a couple of snug but predictable sections of squeeze. One group member exited before the final (tight) narrows.

Dry conditions compared to previous trip report. Almost all mud/water was avoidable until final pool. the few spots of retained water were knee deep at most, and could be avoided. (the exception is the final pool, that had a trickle of flow into it, and was quite deep and cold.)

The final rappel is on a directionally shifting/moving chalk stone that one would need to high-stem to replace. It's functional with caution, and directionally stable. When we pulled/tested, the rock did shift. Furthermore, the webbing for the anchor is sun-exposed and white (meaning, it's hard to tell if it has been bleached / damaged. That being said, we stuck a rope on the final rap and ascended on the anchor, so it was strong enough.

A more confident high-stemming team may want to reinforce, or shift the anchor to reduce the instability / sun exposure. 100' rope was needed.

Comment: FULL OF WATER after recent rains. The pool in the first section was neck deep or so. Down canyon there were spots with thigh to waist deep wading. Nonetheless, a great time.

Comment: After recent rain, not possible or realstic to stay dry (only thigh deep at highest, I'm 6'0'). Downclimb into pool is unavoidable and since wet, doesn't make sense to stem and waste energy as is getting warm again and long. Had to exhale a few times to squeeze through 4th narrows but not as intimidating as originally thought. If you're actually a thin person or young you shouldn't find much issues but don't take it lightly Webbing extended from pool at grim crawl so inspect. Last rappel and exit is gorgeous. Exit hike up is steep but easy, potentially loose depending on recent weather.

Comment: Was able to stem over most of the water till the last pool. Got about shin deep by using the ledge.

Comment: 7 people. One of the team members had difficulty with 4th narrows. Unfortunately, a backtrack with an ascend out was necessary to retrieve 2 of the people.

Very fun challenging canyon, a blast if you can squeeze through!
