Comment: Scouting it out for beginners. Sometimes there is no line of sight of rappelers from the top. Good place to learn overhangs.

Comment: Mid March is spring break time for Sedona so get ready for the conga lines along the trail in/out of Boynton. Other than that, the run was stellar. Just a weeeee trickle of water made the colors in the rock pop which was a real nice touch.

We found most anchors with redundant webbing in very convoluted configurations (see photo), which was less than ideal. Standing on my soap box for just a moment: if you feel the need to add webbing to an anchor where there's already webbing in place, it's generally because you feel the existing webbing isn't safe.... so please remove the existing webbing whenever you add more. Love it or not, webbing is trash left in a canyon so let's try to keep it to a functional minimum.

Head over to the anchoring section at Sedona Canyoneering to learn more about the norms in Red Rock country (https://www.sedonacanyoneering.com/anchors).

All anchors were cleaned up and are good to go.

Comment: Webbing looks great, R3 has some bright red webbing that should be replaced with black, but the condition of it is good and well.

Fun day, colors have receded so currently in dry winter conditions.

Comment: Vegetative hardships are low to non-existent, the approach is well worn in, and exit is one of the easiest around. Coupled with the fun and engaging rappels, this is a great little route in the Mother Canyon.

We replaced webbing as needed, and left things in good shape for the next group.

Of note, there is graffiti at the first 2 rappel stations which is sad to see. So far, canyoning has a good reputation with land managers in the area, please don't mess that up by being idiots out there. For more on that, head over here: https://www.sedonacanyoneering.com/LNT

Comment: Webbing Looks Good, Easy day, check the knots, R3 looked brand-new but with a poorly dressed water knot. Very mellow, beautiful drainage.

Comment: Some snowpack was left on the approach before the subway. Some areas through the canyon were wet but not running. Time includes a detour at subway. KML file is 100% accurate and written directions were easy. Nice canyon with a decently long approach, but easy social trail on everything but the part past the subway through the exit.

Comment: Anchors looked good for the most part. 15 of webbing reccomended as the last anchor may need replacing. Great new years run. Canyon dry, no surprises.

Comment: Fantastic run in Sedona thaw with light flow and snow flurries.

We originally planned for chopper drop, but changed to slingshot due to slick terrain pn the approach. Conditions in slingshot were fabulous. New anchors were stripped and replaced with blue accessory cord. If it wasn't cold and with a big group we would have replaced with neutral colored 1 inch webbing.

A great 1st annual Brandon Levander memorial run.
